September 2012 Performances: THOMAS KÖNER (DE) MARTIN HOWSE (UK)     The Transnatural festival explores possibilities of balancing nature & technology brinning together projects and research from art, design and industry.   The third edition of the festival (7 September zo 7 October 2012) showcases future scenarios and recent innovation from arts, the creative industry and the business community. This year the program consists of a month-long interdisciplinary exhibition, a two-day conference and a weekend of performances and music.The Transnatural festival features an eclectic mix of national and international artists, thinkers and companies with work from studios, R & D labs, research institutes and businesses.   The 2012 theme "The state of Autonomy" explores autonomous systems & products, new ways of harvesting energy and food, and innovative, smart materials. Materials that can - whether organic, synthetic or hybrid - mind not only themselves but also their environment. The central question here is whether more balance can exist between the man-made technological world and nature. Could these autonomous forms fulfill our desire to communicate and operate worldwide without having a negative impact on mankind and nature?
