With:   Novo Line – Formerly active as guitarist for Baltimore math rock band OXES, Nat Fowler has recently branched out onto a solo path under the Novo Line moniker. Now a Berlin resident and inspired by the city’s ubiquitous digital slot machines (that appear under the Novoline or Novomatic brand), Fowler misuses a 23 year-old software program running on one megabyte of RAM on an Atari ST personal computer as a live instrument in order to generate random MIDI signals based on a set of changing parameters that trigger hardware synthesizers from the same era. Fowler adds a layer of live performance to his explorations of junkyard process music; using live mixing, he intensifies each new piece as it develops and rises from the silicone ether, and channels the music’s innumerable possible pathways in real time so that it sails until it resolves, never again to be recreated… unless caught on tape!  – densely complex and hollowly simple! › soundcloud.com/novoline   Heatsick uses various instruments including voice, keyboard and percussion to create saturated washes of tone, floating and disintegrating entropic loops, while also using deliberately broken continuity as a playful, live conceptual gesture. The project is focused on repetition as a means of creating abstraction, improvising with organic variations of a theme, yet embracing the artificial to facilitate a psychedelic mindshift. The music references a palette of sources from Musique Concrete and Psychedelia, through to the early Chicago House mix tapes, creating a unique compelling sound. They play ecclectic sets of Acid, Tekno, 70's-80's Electro Pop, Mutant Disco, traditional and nontraditional World Music and many hard or undefined (sub) genres from the 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's from all over the world. For the night at Lieu Unique they will sweep the floor with a mix of UK Bass, Garage, Juke, Acid, Ghetto Tech and Detroit Techno.
