Goethe Institute Warsaw in collaboration with DISK / CTM presents an exciting program of music, performances and art at the opening of the second stage of the project "Promised City". After the exhibition "Earl Years" curated by the Museum of Modern Art for the KW Institute for Contemporary Art (KW) in Berlin, the "Promised City" project continues with the opening of the exhibition "Wystawa", curated by Susanne Pfeffer (KW Institute for Contemporary Art Berlin) for the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.
To kick-off the "Promised City" in Warsaw, DISK/CTM put together an evening program that mirrors the multi-faceted mingling of Berlin's art and music culture.
The venue Nowy Swiat Wspaniały (NWS) (English: Brave New World) is located in a former restaurant of the Polish intelligentsia and belongs to the publishing house and magazine Krytyka Polityczna. At this magnificent place of convergence DJ Mobiletti Giradischi will open the night, followed by solo performances of Noot and Planningtorock, who will be presenting her new record. The night continues till teh early morning hours with DJ-sets one of the Grand Dames of Berlin's club life, DJ Mo, and by one of the most active DJs of Warsaw's rising electronic music scene, DJ Bshosa. Both accompanied by visuals by Berlin video artist U-Matic. On the second floor Raum für Projektion will present the audiovisual piece "Unauthorized Commercials" by graw böckler with a soundtrack by Popnoname.
"The Promised City" is a cultural initiative between Berlin and Warsaw with program elements also in Mumbai and Bucharest: Artists, curators and academics from Germany, Poland, India, and Romania develop various new creative productions. All of which are interdisciplinary and evolve around subjects of dreams, illusions, and promises of modern metropolises. Within this context, the project The Knot – Linking the Existing with the Imaginary – organized by DISK/CTM, Raumlabor.Berlin, e-cart.ro and the independent curator Jakub Szreder – will begin end of April in Berlin. The project will be continued with events in Warsaw and Bucharest later in the year.

Following four years of art school, Noot moved to the Czech Republic before settling in Berlin in 2007.
