Rutvica Andrijasevic is a Ph.D. student of the Netherlands Research School of Women's Studies. Her dissertation addressed the topic of sex-trafficking in women from Eastern Europe to the countries of European Union (E.U.). The research examines the issue of sex-trafficking from the perspective of migration and 'new' Europe, demonstrating the gaps between official discourses, official policies and women's narratives. Andrijasevic is also a member of the Next GENDERation network. Based in Europe, Next GENDERation is a European network of students and graduates working in various fields of women's, feminist and gender studies.
