The name Antilles could make you think of a peacefull sunset on a quiet sea, but the parisian trio is more like the ideal soundtrack for some pagan ceremony on a burning island populated by tropical diseases. A well-kept secret in the French underground community, Antilles is a new act formed by three activists: Erik Minkkinen and Lionel Fernandez from Sister Iodine (cult French band invited by Sonic Youth as a support on their European tour in the early 00s), Jerome Berg from The Berg Sans Nipple, here on drums. Together, this loud and apocalyptic trio combines voluptious noise walls and transcendant rythms. Based on experimentaion with a great part of improvisation Antilles develop hypnotic atmospheres tainted with nowave and krautrock propulsing feedbacks outerspace – an intense psychic and physical experience. Dance, shake, forget time and space.
