Marcos Boffa aka DJ Boffa is one of the most active music organizers in South America and a representative of contemporary Brazilian music, he has collaborated with most of the important contemporary musicians in Brazil. As the director of Motor Musicâ-tour company he took care of South American tours for international artists like Stereolab, Fugazi, Superchunk, Yo La Tengo, Tortoise, Stephen Malkmus, Asian Dub, Schneider TM, Ellen Allien and Laub (in collaboration with the Goethe Institute). After studying cultural politics in France he founded the Broadway Music Club in Belo Horizonte and worked as the coordinator of the “BH Rock Independent Fest” in Belo Horizonte. In 1999 he became the Artistic Director of the Eletronika Festival in Belo Horizonte, one of the most important meeting places for electronic musicians in South America today. Additionally, in 2005, Marcos Boffa became the artistic director of SonarSound in Sao Paolo, a collaborative project with the Sonar Festival Barcelona. His long-term engagement with electronic music has given rise to impressive skills behind the decks, and Boffa is now getting international recognition for his skills. Last DJ Boffa accompanied DJ Marlboro for his first Berlin appearance introduced him at club transmediale.05 with his own funk filled set.
