Silke Borgstedt studied musicology, psychology und educational sciences at C.v.O-University Oldenburg and at TU Berlin (M.A. 2001, supervisor: Helga de la Motte). PhD at HU Berlin (Dr.phil 2007, supervisor: Peter Wicke). Since 2005 she has been working as research manager for GIM Gesellschaft für Innovative Marktforschung, conducting international research projects with focus on FMCG, entertainment industries, and consumer electronics. Since 2006 guest lecturer at Popakademie Baden-Württemberg in Mannheim and freelancer at Forschungszentrum Populäre Musik at HU Berlin.
Main focus of interest and research: music sociology, music psychology, popular culture, youth, qualitative online research.
