Junction SM is Dandy Jack and Sonja Moonear’s unique live/dj combo project. Moonear is a DJ from Switzerland known for her work with producers Luciano, and Zip; Dandy Jack is Chilean born Martin Schopf, a Berlin based artist with a long history in electronic music, known especially for his exceptional live performances. Together, Junction SM create a fusion of improvised electronics and mixing with explosive results.
Dandy jack’s live set feeds directly through two channels of Moonear’s mixer, she adds, filters, edits, cuts, pitching her records directly to Schopf’s set. Moonear has ultimate control of the overall sound, and often mixes entire records directly over the top of the live set, while Schopf responds to the records, and at times performs solo.
The symbiotic relationship is central to this project, not only with each other, but, very importantly, with the audience – everything is connected to the crowd. The sounds are tweaked and modulated according to the audiences’ motivation, resulting in a chemistry and energy that carries everyone forward till the early hours.

Los Siete Castigos was released on Perlon, the result of more than two years of collaborative sonic research for the Dandy Jack and the Junction SM.
