As Deer, Martin Hirsch explores the intersections of various forms of expression within electronic music, putting an emphasis on engaging and improvised live performances. Drawing material from a variety of sources, Deers sound is characterised by fieldrecordings clashing with intricate rhythm-patterns and beautifully crafted melodies. Martin leaves it to the listener to decide whether the product of this combination is House, Techno or something else altogether. He lives and works in Weimar, Germany, from where he also runs the label Neo Ouija and works as freelance writer and multimedia artist. He is also a co-organiser the nomadic netlabel festival STFU.
