A prodigy of the techno world, Edgar was performing with the Detroit greats (Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson, Derrick May) when he was just fifteen. Now 22, he has a string of mercurial releases on respected labels (Merck, Audio.nl, Warp), productions that move from hip-hop cut-ups to glitch to r&b infusions with micro ease. Citing his hometown as his biggest inspiration he aspires to capture ‘the essence of Detroit itself’ with his songs.
 
Edgar started making electronic music when he was 10 years old; his first explorations were “experiments in sound…acoustic space, pretty minimal stuff, and things like tape loops and tape manipulation.” Then at 17, he was picked up by NYC’s Isophlux following the release of We Like You on Poker Flat.
 
Edgar’s first full length album, My Mines I, came out on Merck soon after. A split between two of his alter egos, Kristuit Salu vs. Morris Nightingale, the album got considerable attention, and Edgar subsequently played shows throughout the US (including the infamous Miami Infiltrate), Canada and Japan. His full length on Warp Bounce, Make, Model (2004) was described as “…scratches galore and moody electronic pulses via some glorious Detroit Neon."
 
Edgar is also a video artist, incorporating his own work into his set and live shows. With customized software, he controls the parameters live for a synchronized flow. Strongly attracted to the visual arts, he has had shows in a number of galleries – installations that showcase his video work.
