Cornelia Erdmann was born 1976 in Frankfurt a.M, Germany. After graduation from secondary school she works for one year as assistent teacher for German and Fine Art in Guildford, UK. 1996 she begins her studies in Architecture at Bauhaus-University Weimar, Germany and Waseda University Tokyo, Japan. After graduation in 2002 she works as a freelance designer. In addition she returns to the Bauhaus-University Weimar for a Master of Fine Art course “Public Art and New Artistic Strategies”. In 2003 she spends half a year on a scholarship in Munich in the Designlab Siemens Mobile, where she realizes the installation “Scanning”. Since September 2003 Cornelia Erdmann is a guest lecturer for “mediatecture” at the Department of Architecture of the ETH (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) in Zürich, Switzerland, while, at the same time, she continues her work as media-artist. In her projects Cornelia Erdmann is mainly interested in the interaction of architecture and multimedia; public space is her playground. Her works have been exhibited in Frankfurt, Weimar, Berlin, Tokyo, Hamburg and Munich. She has received prizes and honors for different architectural competitions and video-works.
