Rolf Grossmann is Professor for the subject areas Musik und auditive Kultur (Music and Auditive Culture) as well as Digitale Medien/Kulturinformatik (Digital Media/Culture Informatics) for the study course Angewandte Kulturwissenschaften (Applied Cultural Sciences) and head of the specialist area Ästhetische Strategien (Aesthetic Strategies) at the Universität Lüneburg.
 
Main focus of research: Technology and media culture of music, aesthetics of digital media, sampling; interactive media art, sound and space: installations, interfaces.
