HyperWerk, Institute for Post-industrial Design, is part of the Academy of
Art and Design in Basel (HGK FHNW), Switzerland. For the last ten years,
HyperWerk has been creating strategies, methods and tools to deal with the
transformations through which our society must evolve. The institute
provides new solutions for a post-industrial world through experimental and
interdisciplinary design practices. HyperWerk explores the relationand
interplay of space and shape within and for a dynamic world, using its
rapidly evolving tools and materials, bringing about not only the next
opportunities for business, but hopes of sustainable equilibrium and of
unseen expression. Their Acar2 project looks at how digital fabrication can
be used to transform craft-based traditions into a new digital reality.
