'Portable Karaoke', Berlin, 2005
The project has its origins in the image of Berlin's sausage streetvendors, who carry their grill equipment on their own bodies. Inspired by this form, Patrick Jambon designed a portable karaoke with which he can move freely through the streets and invite the persons to participate, to sing. At the same time, he is confronting the street and the passer-by with the lyrics of the songs. The idea is to imagine strategies in form of action against precariousness. The action combines the obligation to be self-reliant with the pleasure of doing things yourself. The image of the artist as the model of the creative, non-alienated worker becomes the state-supported ideal (ICH-AG).
Patrick Jambon, was born in Lyon and currently lives in Berlin.
