Currently living in Bratislava (Slovakia) the Ukraine-born sound artist Viktor Tverdochlibov (1979) is working under the moniker Karaoke Tundra since 2001. After his debut 3"CD
Urban Love Story (2004) and many compilation appearances he has released his critically acclaimed full length album
Gastarbeiter (2005), a wild mixture of crate digging, old analogue synths, microsound, turntablism, playful sampling, broken beats, dub, techno and even traditional music. Karaoke Tundra has also released several net-releases (Kikapu, Ogredung), produced an EP of mysterious rapper
Peťo Tázok and remixed many artists from Czech Republic and Slovakia.
In 2005 he won Roots Manuva's Witness Remix Competition, his remix was included in Witness Remix Competition EP available as a digital single released by Big Dada. Karaoke Tundra also composes music for animated and documentary films and theater performances. In collaboration with his Czech colleague MMtm he is active in Karaoke Mouse project – together they appeared on
Progress compilation by Slovenian RX:TX label, recorded a special program session for Czech Radio and released an online Shanghai Reggae EP on their own Surreal Madrid netlabel.
Karaoke Tundra's live shows supported by finest Slovakian turntablist DJ Spinhandz were performed on many parties and festivals. He also loves to play as a DJ, mixing hip-hop, ambient, breakcore, dubstep and experimental electronic music with weird old records and spoken word.
