Erin McGonigle (USA) is interested in the physicality of things and mobility, which continue to provoke her investigations into performance contexts and extend her vocabulary of concrete noises. With a training in anthropology, she evolves into a transdisciplanary field of artistic activity including her experimental sound work located within the discursive domain of public space, urban artifact, and cultural production. McGonigle views the process of receiving the urban environment as an extension of social production. By incorporating reception into the process of constructing meaning to her work, it develops a method for interpretation of reciprocal conditions. Physically and discursively, artists and audience address each other as cultural producers. She is part of the artist group e-Xplo.
