Montreéal duo Minibloc is Nicolas Dion and Anne-Francoise Jacques, active as a duo since 2004. They’ve played many festivals and events including Mutek, Pop Montréal, MEG Montréal and TILT.
Carton.Micro.Récréaton, their first full-length album, came out on the Le Son 666 label in spring 2006, and a 30 minute untitled Minibloc track was included on the
Ostinato 23 Oral compilation in 2008 along with material from
Martin Tètrault and Chantal Dumas.
Jacques studied
electro-acoustic composition at the Université de Montréal and works as an audio-artist on various solo projects under the name Anne-F. She released a self-titled 3” CD single (LE SON 666-06) in summer 2005, and is a member of the All-Dressed Trio with Jackie Gallant and Erin Sexton. Dion is a self-taught musician and also member of the
experimental, electro-noise trio Intercom (Le Son 666) with Jean-Michel Gadoua and Pascal Gauthier. Dion also works under the moniker Darcin and in 2006 released the single "Parc"
on Montreal net label Panospria.
