ODD is a Japanese electro dance music unit by Daisuke Pak, based in Berlin. His music was first influenced by techno pop and new wave, for example YMO, Denki Groove and Kraftwerk. ODD today stands for an inventive electro-sound paired with live Japanese vocals. The lyrics are full of irony, dealing with everyday-life phenomena from Japanese culture and society. Daisuke is fascinated with manipulating the vowels and nuances of the Japanese language to create unique sounds and rhythms. In 1999, he moved to Europe and started playing live acts in Paris. In 2001 he placed his base of operations in Berlin, and has since played in many european countries. For his live set, he uses a sampler, his laptop, a voice-effect-controller, a turntable and, of course, his voice. Daisuke Pak is also a DJ and organizes events called "Electric Masaru" and "Electric Harue".
