Pixel aka Jon Egeskov was born in Denmark in 1973. Pixel studied Jazz at Copenhagen conservatory with saxophone as his main instrument. These studies allowed an unconventional approach to modern electronic music. He mixes swing and complex polyrhythmic structures. Pixel employs Indian metres like the "konnakol" and creates correlations to tightly quantized music. Pixel likes to use complex polyrhythmical structures in his music - but without making it sound complex. He creates an underlying layer for the listener to be whirled around and surprised by, and to dive into.
