This is the strangest stuff that’s been seen on video for quite some time: humanoids in costumes suggestive of deer, rabbits, political radicals and ballet careering around to rhythmic music and completely out of time! In line with their own personal 10 Commandments, Tourette-TV create visual affronts worthy of their namesake: the Tourette syndrome being characterised by spontaneous outbreaks of involuntary kinetic spasms, repetitive movements or streams of verbal abuse The total somatic dysfunction of Tourette-sufferers finds its reflection here as kinaesthetic disassembly. The pictures “stutter and stammer” in the truest Deleuze-ian sense and, moreover, on two levels at once: both as “dysfunctional tic as seen on the screen“ and as a “tic-distorted image”.
