Un Mono Azul (Blue Monkey) is the musical character embodied by Federico Calderón: a DJ, producer and remixer, with current home in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Formerly known as Polux, this freestyle activist was born in Mendoza, Argentina, where he created a regional electronic label (Zonda Sound Records). Today his works are published on websites all around the world.
 
His sound is the result of mutant eclecticism of his influences: and unprejudiced mixture of deep bass, flying synths and tropical beats. In his first two years as a producer, he edited works for National Records (USA), ZZK Records (Argentina), Hipi Duki (Spain) and Subklub Records (Argentina): As a remixer, in 2009 he was one of the winners in the first ZZK Records remix contest. Later on he remixed a wide variety of artists such as Blood Shake, Bomba Estereo, Fauna, ISA GT, Douster, Tremor, Gotan Project and Fever Ray, among others. Un Mono Azul is also known for the freshness of his dj sets, reason why, in 2010, he was one of the eight djs selected to participate in the 1st Red Bull Threestyle Contest Argentina.
 
In 2011, Un Mono Azul begins to form part of two new music projects: In one hand, Troncho, a new experimental audiovisual project with El Remolon, and on the other hand, he joins the legendary group Fauna, accompanying Color Kit with programming and vocals.
 
Fauna and Un Mono Azul come from a very successful first South American tour, presenting the new album Manshines (ZZK Records) and their explosive dj sets, shows that will lead them through Brazil and Europe in September 2011.
