// Photo-booth @ club transmediale
Design group "Dabei Berlin" installs an old-school photo-both at club transmediale:
»You went in and took a bath in narcissism, which in the late 50s and early 60s, when people were so conformist in America, had something sexual about it. Also, there’s this incredibly close resemblance of the photo-booth to the Catholic confessional. You went in and drew the curtain, and suddenly you’re alone with the priest.« Andy Warhol
This black and white machine from 1960 was build in the USA, but spend most of it’s time in Switzerland. It is one of the very few old fashioned photo-booths in Germany. The traditional analoque photo-booth has disappeared since just a few years and has been replaced by digital technology. Since the digital photos don’t lift up to the great quality of what is seen as "old technique" by the industry, we decided to keep this alive for a bit longer. Photo-booths have always been a place of creativity and fun. "Dabei Berlin" hopes you are inspired to make some good shots. Scan and send your unique photos to
