As part of the Live Cinema series, jointly organised by transmediale and club transmediale, the transmediale presents lectures and workshops on various livecoding systems. Previous knowledge of the subject is not mandatory.
In this presentation TOPLAP members present a diverse range of current livecoding environments, including ChucK, feedback.pl, fluxus, jitlib, musique littéral, noisepattern, PureEvents, redFrik and The Thingee.
TOPLAP, “The Temporary Organisation for the Promotion of Live Algorithm Programming” is a collective of musicians and VJs active in the livecoding field. 'Livecode' is software that integrates a programmer’s own activity into the programme's operation. To put it briefly: a programmer can change the rules while these are being carried out by the computer.
