As part of the Live Cinema series, jointly organised by transmediale and club transmediale, the transmediale presents lectures and workshops on various livecoding systems by members of the livecoding collective TOPLAP. Previous knowledge of the subject is not mandatory.
14:00-16:30h Livecoding 1 – ChucK
ChucK is a new computer music language that is strongly-timed, concurrent, and can be programmed on-the-fly. Learn all about it at the workshop!
16:30-19:00 Livecoding 2 – jitlib/SuperCollider
The workshop will introduce a referential system for livecoding that can be used to create various topologies for musical improvisation with code. We will show how to write programs while they run and how to use references to processes that are shared between participants. While some changes effect one part of the system, they do so differently depending on the local context of each.
