Philip Wiegard [DE]
Installation, 2006
Berlin artist, Philip Wiegard is preoccupied with surfaces, their warps, protuberances and shifting perspectives. His particular interest is the transition from object to image that results in relief-type tableaux, reminiscent of Constructivism, Minimalism and Concept Art. It’s a skillful, humorous, sometimes anti-consumerist and decidedly reductionist play on physicality and form that renders objects partly unrecognizable. For CTM he will create and install a large scale, 3-dimensional wooden object in the MAO's main hall.
