Mexican Carlos Amorales works with a range of cultural and social values which he continually relates to his origins. His work revolves around masks and the displacement and transmutation of identities, taking the form of bizarre fictional characters. In his performances, or rather contemporary rituals, he juxtaposes Mexican iconography with Western reality. With its motto „Terrordisco – Working class today ... tomorrow NuevosRicos!“, the output of his NuevosRicos label, founded together with composer Julian Lede in 2003, investigates economic and social questions with irony and subversive strategies. For CTM.06 Amorales creates a mural.
