In many respects this evening is a sequel to the Wasted program at CTM.05, which has since developed into an independent festival. Coaxing ludicrous sounds from strange bedfellows is tonight's common methodology: Out of Metal, Hip-Hop, Breakcore, Mash-up and melodic Noise-Punk emerge absurd mixes of guitar riffs, kinky beats, berserk drum blasts, high-speed sampling, Gameboy melodies, Country and Japanese folksongs. Built on contradictions and far from fragile, these are definitively drastic, disrespectful and outrageous sets: liquid and bulky, brutal and funny, irritating and candy-cute, polished Breakbeat architecture alongside Lo-Fi Punk rawness, aggressive and entertaining – all at the same time. The most important element in the performance however, is the way it dissolves the border between the stage and the audience, playing with rather than for the public. Costumes, banter, action and humor culminate in the performers’ intrepid, irony laden self-exposure that together with a vibrant, contagious sound let the evening off the leash, without the slightest reservation.
