2006, 52 min., French with English subtitles, black/white.
With introduction by director Francois Lévy-Kuentz.
Featuring unreleased archival material, including Klein's own films, Francois Lévy-Kuentz’s portrait produced for the 2006 Pompidou Centre retrospective,"Yves Klein: Body, Colour, Immaterial", examines the artist's meteoric career. Although his name might only evoke the celebrated IKB (International Klein Blue) and monochrome canvases, his work extends well beyond the realm of painting. Klein explored a variety of genres: performances that prefigured conceptual art, architectural projects, sound art, ballet choreographies, film sets, writing. The Blue Revolution is a film intended to communicate the essence of Klein’s visionary work.
