"Bon gout" means good taste in French, and while this is certainly meant to be taken with tongue in cheek, the art of Anna Hellsgard from Sweden and Meeloo Gfeller from France couldn't have a more pleasant taste to those who like their eye-food bold, colorful and visually arresting. It is no coincidence that this art duo's name can also be pronounced "Bong Out!" to aptly describe their hallucinogenic and often humorous image-overkill style. Since 1995, the duo, now both based in Berlin, works on drawings, collages and hand-made silk-screen books – more than 80 to date. They also design and print posters, do record covers, create installations and publish "Mollusk", an offset visual art encyclopedia de Bongout. For CTM.08 Bongoût creates an environment that gives shape to the new Smokers-Lounge of MAO. Shortly after the festival, on February 6, Bongoût will inaugurate their own showroom at Torstrasse 110 in Berlin.
