In the early 60s a pupil of Beuys and a decade later co-founder of
Kluster and
Tangerine Dream,
Conrad Schnitzler was a shining key figure in Germany’s new post-avant-garde. Conceptual decisions and consistent discontinuity led him to almost completely retreat from the public eye for the last 30 years. Comprising two rarely shown documentaries by former Berlin broadcasting company SFB, Schnitzler’s own experiments in video, and
Wolfgang Seidel’s found-footage collage for the "Eruptions" soundtrack, the film program spans a visual arc across Schnitzler’s productive early phase.
Partly in German language.
