Iranian philosopher Reza Negarestani will discuss the effects of xeno-communication, whereby it is no longer a matter of us remaining open to an occurrence but rather of the dark material currents that open us up. Mark Fisher from the UK (noted by Slavoj Zizek for his "best diagnosis of the cul-de-sac in which we find ourselves at present") will talk about the impact of hauntology and the current capitalist state of siege.

He currently lectures at Goldsmiths University and at London’s City Literary Institute. His work on hauntology and his critique of capitalism pioneers new paths. Slavoj Žižek described Fisher’s book
Capitalist Realism (2009) as a "compulsively readable book (and) simply the best diagnosis of our predicament that we have!"

Reza Negarestani is an Iranian philosopher and writer. His works have appeared in journals and anthologies such as Collapse, Angelaki, Identity and The Speculative Turn. He is the author of
Cyclonopedia: Complicity with Anonymous Materials (Melbourne: re.press 2008). Negarestani's writings have been the subject of various theoretical and literary courses and seminars, most recently a symposium centered on Negarestani's Cyclonopedia held by The New School, New York.
