The arthouse and documentary video on demand platform
realeyz.tv has from the outset included works which cross genre boundaries and explore the artistic possibilities of film and video. Now, realeyz.tv has launched an Art Channel section devoted to making media art – from Super 8 films to digital animation – available for online viewing. Later this year we will also offer high quality files on storage media which themselves are limited edition art objects, signed by the artist.
As part of CTM.12 and
Ghosts Off the Shelf, realeyz.tv is proud to present the fledging Art Channels as outreach to potentially interested media artists. Corresponding with the themes of CTM.12, this event will explore aspects of rescuing analogue works from oblivion by digital means and models of online presentation of media art ranging from free archives to remuneration sources for the artists. Two artists associated with the channel will screen samples of their work:
› Media artist
Jakobine Engel will present excerpts of of her work in Super 8 and video that deal with the Cold War division of Berlin and the aftermath of the Fall of the Wall
› Musician/composer and CTM performer
Manuel Göttsching will bring a little-seen gem from his extensive archive of his own performances and art happenings in 1970s and 1980s West Berlin Following the screening, the artists will be available for Q&A with the audience. (› see also
The Ghosts in the Machine).
Host:
Mario Mentrup (filmmaker/actor/musician/art journalist/publisher).
realeyz.tv also presents the
CTM.12 videoblog with daily interviews, reports and concert recordings. On top every CTM.12 paper entry wristband holds a discount code for two weeks free access to the realeyz.tv on demand portal.
