On-site magazine production by <tag> [NL]
// 24–31/01 > Venue:
KKB > 12–21:00
For the CTM festival, <>TAG will set up a documentation/print/workshop in the Kunstraum Kreuzberg / Bethanien and produce a special edition of <TAG MAG>.
<TAG> will connect the theme of STRUCTURES to that of independent network cultures, with a number of writers invited to reflect on the topics. The magazine will be designed and distributed in <TAG>'s distinct style, with the results to be presented gradually over the course of the festival.
Next to this <TAG> will present the site-specific work "feedback structures" by feedbacksociety (Arno Scheper en Renzo van Steenbergen) that will mirror the outcome of <TAG MAG> in an audiovisual installation. The site-specific spatial audiovisual installation will reflect today’s connections in the web of independent audiovisual cultures. The installation will consist of a growing number of image and sound carriers. This hardware structure will be a display by means of composed samples that will be carried out on the site-specifically placed TVs, speakers and lights. The installation will be a thoughtful dynamic tangle of TVs that are visible associated with the cabling. The reflection will be done by recording, composing and broadcasting during the festival gathered picture and sound materials of the artists, the work and the reactions of the public.
<TAG> (NL)Established in 2003, <TAG> is an interdisciplinary platform for contemporary art based in The Hague and Amsterdam. >TAG has operated for several years as a node in a larger network to present different artistic approaches to complex social themes, ranging from eco-aesthetics, sourveillance and augmented reality to generative art, data visualisation and information aesthetics. By setting up interdisciplinary exhibitions and related symposia (workshops, lectures) and publications surveying the outcome, <TAG>'s approach to knowledge management documents thefull process that the platform follows and brings fresh ideas to the widest possible audience. <TAG> stands as an example of a self-defined production and presentation structure in the cultural scene. Established and run as an artists’ initiative, <TAG> attempts to synchronise the connection between professional intention and a high degree of idealism and to explore a third way between iron-cast institutionalisation and a flexible platform for action.
For CTM.09, <Tag> will be represented by:
Hicham Khalidi, Carmen Hutting, Peter Zuiderwijk, Karin Mientjes, Merel Eijkelhof, Danielle Boelling, Aurelie Ouang, Eelco Borremans, Beer van Geer, Daan Patijn, Emilie Patijn, Aat Seger, Linde van Masdorp.
