UNSOUND
Unsound Krakow was established in 2003 in Krakow, Poland, as a festival of advanced music. Starting out as an underground event, in recent years the festival has grown in size and name. Fundacja Tone, the organization behind, currently produces the annual festival in Krakow in October each year, and in spring 2012 will produce the third Unsound Festival New York with local producers, curators, venues and cultural institutes in that city. Also with local partners Unsound/Fundacja Tone has created smaller events in Prague, Warsaw, Bratslava, Kiev, and Minsk, the capital of Belarus. Unsound is interested in the idea of cross border collaboration, and thinking of the festival as a tool for commmissioning and fostering new work. As well as this, Unsound is focused on promoting music from Poland and generally the region east of Berlin.

ROKOLECTIV
Rokolectiv is Bucharest’s 6 years old festival for electronic music and related arts, usually set to take place around April in
MNAC (Museum of Contemporary Art, set in Ceausescu’s infamous yet famous palace). The festival reflects ICAS’s open-ended approach to the whole panorama of contemporary and experimental music and related arts, hosting each year concerts, performances, installations and film screenings. The program generally brings the social dimension of music at the core of the stage and haunts both good and bad dreams, with schizoid line-ups ranging from pure fun-driven beats to fuzzy dark performances.
