ICAS Network, together with MUTEK Latin American branches in Argentina, Chile and Mexico present a special program offering a wide approach to the freshest of Latin sounds based on tropical, folk and cumbia roots flirting with kuduro, dubstep, electro bass and the finest techno.
MUTEK signature activities across the Americas began in Chile in 2003 with a
Micro MUTEK event held at the port city of Valparaiso. Mexico City, the most prolific cell to date, joined next in December 2004, and an exact year later the last gig of MUTEK_PANAM Tour in Buenos Aires added Argentina to the list. Since then, with more than 30 events including full festival editions, MUTEK’s Latin satellites work as an important hub of exchange, providing new sources of talent often featured in Montreal’s yearly festival.

Los Refrescos, originally a project by Chilean Martin Schopf (aka Dandy Jack) and Venezuelan Argenis Brito, deliver sensuality and sexuality in moderate bpm. Also tagged with the voice of Senor Coconut, Sieg über die Sonne, Ric y Martin or Mambotur, at the ICAS SUITE they form a special team with Andrés Bucci and Miguel Toro.
Toy Selectah, the mix-master wizard from Monterrey, has been lately galloping the rural rhythms of Colombian-Mexican cumbias, hip-hop, breakbeat and reggae, creating his own trademark sound recruited by Diplo’s Mad Decent crew.
