MATS GUSTAFSSON
Peter Brötzmann, Marino Pliakas and Michael Wertmüller have invited Swedish saxophone wizard Mats Gustafsson as a special guest to perform with their trio Full Blast. Full Blast will pay CTM.11's Closing Concert on Sunday January 6 at HAU 1, also celebrating Peter Brötzmann's 70th birthday. Gustaffson, who is also part of Peter Brötzmann's trio Sonore and Chicago Tentet, is most probably Sweden's most acclaimed jazz musician and one of the stalwarts of European free jazz. He plays all types of saxophone's and is know for "his intensity when improvising and his tonal belligerence".

DEPRESSED BUTTONS
Apparently technical tools can suffer from the intake of psychogenic drugs as well as from their withdrawal. In case of Depressed Buttons, we'd say it s a clear case of Ritalin abuse. Three former members of electro punk outlet The Faint have taken their ransacking journey through electronic dance music even further. With their deadly mixture of Rio's carnival gone Hades and New York's electroclash gone haywire, and now signed to Mad Decent, they have already remixed the likes of BoysNoize, Of Montreal and Boy 8 Bit.
On Friday January 4, Todd, head of the band, will finish off the night at Maria am Ostbahnhof with a bonewrecking DJ set and give a final note to the preceding live shows of The Field, Gold Panda, WU LYF and MIT. To get an idea, listen to their Mixmeat Mixtape.

DRAG'N'DROP
Another addition to the program on Friday February 4 Maria am Ostbahnhof: Drag'n'Drop is a witch house or 'drag' special co-curated by Berlin's own, Sick Girls (Revoluton N°5). Hybrid music's latest phenomenon has seen the rebirth of gothic, lo-fi and industrial sounds in a crude but wonderful combination with dirty south hiphop, eurodance and 90's r'n'b. The reference points are widely spread, a fact that CTM and Revoluton N°5 illustrate with their selection of live acts and DJ sets, ranging from o F F & Gr†llGr†ll, the latter widely known for his releases on the Houston based Disaro label, one of the new hype genre's most well known labels, to the

Sick Girls and their unique

take on crunk, dub and hiphop's past to the hypercactive mix of bleeps, beats and ryhmesof Gay Mormon Kissing Club vs. Gucci Goth, bound to inspire fashionistas and squad kids alike with a DJ-set ranging from

Nicki Minaj to Salem to Nightcrawlers.
