DISK Sessions are conceived as an irregular series of performances and presentations for a small audience and present the work of artists, who engage in the experimental exploration of the acoustic realm and the relation of sound and image.
Nexsound records is a platform the promotion of rarely heard music from Ukraine and the number one meeting point for Ukraine's most cutting edge musicians. Nexsound has dedicated itself to unusual and experimental music of any style, both acoustic and electronic, to be released on CDs and as MP3 files. The term that best describes the music published by Nexsound probably is "environmental music" or "indocile ambient". Nexsound's musical aesthetics oscillates between delicate electroacoustic soundscapes, immersive drones and splintered digital noise. As such most music released on Nexsound aims at a more private listening situation. Nexsound pays high attention to the packaging of their CDs, with some of the label's artists working on the graphics and designs. In 2005 Nexsound teamed up with techno label RoBoTek from Kiew to launch the premiere edition of Detali Zvuku, the first international experimental music festival in Ukraine today. Originally founded by Andrey Kiritchenko in 2000 in Kharkiv city, Nexsound is currently operated by Dmytro Fedorenko (Kotra) and Kiritchenko.

Andrey Kiritchenko
Andrey Kiritchenko was born 1976 in Kharkiv and started his musical activity in 1991 as a singer and composer in a rock band. Ever since he is active in various fields of electronic music, e.g. as a radio DJ with his weekly radio show "Vilna Zona" dedicated to techno music. In 1998 he began to create his own electronic music and in 1999 started the "Nihil est excellence/NEX" band to explore the interplay between analogue and digital music drawing from musique-concrete, electroacoustic and drone genres. In 2001 Andrey started Nexsound records – a platform for releasing experimental music from Ukraine. Since 2002 he creates music under his own name and shifts more and more towards exploring microscopic sound structures crosscutting a post-digital electro-acoustic approach with a severe understanding of minimal techno. Apart from his own Nexsound imprint he has released numerous albums and tracks on labels like Ad Noiseam, Zeromoon, SPEKK, DTA, Retina-Scan, Thinner/Autoplate, Notype/Nishi, Soulworm, FGLC, WAN, Tiln. He operates collaboration projects with Francisco Lopez, Kim Cascone, Jonas Lindgren, Jeff Surak, Kotra and others. Kiritchenko has performed at club transmediale in 2004.

Kotra
Kotra is the solo project of Ukrainian artist Dmitro Fedorenko from Kiev. He is a member of the post-industrial band Zet and also known for his sound-designs for video works and interactive projects by Ukranian artist duo Akuvido. His music can best be described as extremely precise digital sound manipulation – a so far unheared approach to glitch music with a touch of minimal techno and post industrial clicks and cuts. Definitely obscure and bizarre abstract constructivism, noisy but with some funky stumbling beats. Together with Andrey Kiritchenko Kotra operates Nexsound records. Kotra has performed at club transmediale in 2003.

Zavoloka
Born in 1981, Katja Zavoloka is a musician and graphic designer from Kiev. Her music is very unusual and challenging from the structural point of view and sometimes combines electronic sounds with rough unprocessed voices, sung by common Ukrainian people. She releases on Andrey Kiritchenko’s Nexsound Label, Laton and Zeromoon and has a collaboration project with Berlin’s poetess and musician AGF. The previous month she has been awarded a "Honorary Mention" by the Prix Ars Electronica jury in the category Digital Musics for her latest album Plavyna. Zavoloka has performed at club transmediale in 2005.
