// 2 More Days of Breakcore in Berlin
// Hosted by Jason Forrest and Pure
Date: Sept. 2 & 3, 2005
Venue: Maria am Ostbahnhof, Berlin
You probably heard about the first Wasted programme, held in conjunction with this past club transmediale.05 festival – two unforgettable nights, programmed by offside music experts Jason Forrest and Pure, that boasted from energy, humour, sonic mayhem and musical radicalism. Yeah, your friends all said how unbelievably great it was, just like the “old days”. Well get ready, we’re doing it again: Wasted 2.
Wasted 2 is a 2-day Breakcore festival held in Berlin featuring a wide range of artists of many different Breakcore styles, representing many different international scenes. Basically, it’s a celebration of a style of music largely spread and centred online, but this celebration isn’t a bunch of geeks talking about software. This is a rocking party where you can’t believe how you could manage to keep dancing for 8 hours straight, 2 days in a row, with a massive smile on your face.
For Wasted 2 we really tried to stuff as much fun and excitement as we knew how. Friday night features
Doormouse from Addict Records, Milwaukee, a rocking explosion of carnal knowledge.
Baseck, 300 BPM turntableist and jump-up dance floor DJ from Los Angeles, CA. Founder of the influential website/forum/label Widerstand from Graz, Austria,
Eiterherd. The world premier of the newest project from legendary producer Christoph de Babalon and guitarist GG a genre-defying band called
Übergang. Emerging new artists such as
Electric Kettle from the long standing French label Peace Off, and Germany’s own Breackore extremist and mix-Houdini
Amboss. Setting us all off straight is a tag-team DJ set by Belgium’s Breakcore Gives Me Wood crew’s
Terror and Mayhem.
Saturday Night features a bit more of a metal vibe. Legendary Dutch producer
Bong Ra drops anthemic rave/grind/break-core for the masses while
Ove Naxx brings his Osaka style of extreme break-sex-venom from Japan. Poland’s
I:Gor lovingly pounds the audience with 24th century gabber. Pittsburgh USA’s
Xanopticon will leave you shocked and slightly aroused with his light-speed cutup insanity.
DJ Scotch Egg comes from Japan, but represents Brighton’s Wrong Music crew with his screamcore-gameboy thrash.
Drumcorps will finish the job with his ultra brutal grind-metal masterpieces, leaving legendary UK producer
Parasite and Berlin’s own
LFO Demon to take what’s left and leave you truly wasted. Of course,
Pure and
Jason Forrest will be keeping watch on both nights to keep things rolling along, DJing lots of surprises to keep a smile on your face and blisters on your feet.
Wasted 2 will also feature a room of music distributors and labels for you to grab up all the newest records you’ve been craving. There’s rumour of some food too, but you really want to rock, and we got plenty of rock for you in store.
