Tim Tetzner’s Handclaps project is an ever-expanding databank of film and video about musical phenomena. The associative, non-linear and modular format of Handclaps allows changing themes to be examined in their respective contexts: subject matter can be accessed in various constellations. Its comprehensive programs comprise music documentation, clips and art videos that give descriptions of specific contexts, investigate the iconography of musical phenomena, cross-reference individual artists and analyze their strategies and social repercussions. For CTM.08 Tim Tetzner has compiled a Handclaps program that reflects this year’s theme, Unpredictable. Based in Berlin, Tetzner is also one of the managers of the Dense Record Shop, a music promoter and freelance curator.
