Jürgen De Blonde has been releasing on the Belgian (K-RAA-K) label as Köhn since 1998. De Blonde is a self-taught musician and composer who has been active since the age of 12, when he started playing around with a small Casio keyboard. From that time onward, he’s been fascinated by electronic music and creating his own sounds.
After early releases in ‘98 and ‘99, he released his eponymous double album “Koen” in 2001, which established his reputation as a master of independent electronic music. Commissions for film scores, collaborative releases and compositions for contemporary dance ensembles followed soon thereafter.
In 2009 KRAAK brought out a long-awaited new Köhn release “We Need More Space In The Cosmos”, which harkens back to his early synthesizer heroes. His latest, “Random Patterns”, takes a more minimalist approach, focusing entirely on meditative, krauty synthesizer landscapes.
