Holding the position of first bass clarinet at the Orchestre national de l’Opéra de Paris since 1992, Bruno Martinez has previously performed under a stunning array of celebrated conductors such as Pierre Boulez, Seiji Ozawa, Charles Dutoit, Kurt Sanderling, Myung Wung Chung, Armin Jordan, Georges Prêtre, James Conlon, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Witold Lutoslawski, Yehudi Menuhin, Valery Gergiev and many others.
 
A skilled performer, he is also recognized for his virtuosity on clarinet and basset horn. Martinez has also been active outside of the realm of classical music, performing contemporary works with TM+, "2E2M", "Musique vivante" and the "Ensemble Intercontemporain", and regularly recording music for film as well as being sought-after as a skillful session player.
 
Martinez has contributed to a diverse set of contemporary and electroacoustic music recordings on prestigious labels such as Columbia, Philips, Academy, Polydor, and Mercury since the early 1990s. His skill and versatility in contemporary and experimental music has given him the opportunity to record works by celebrated electroacoustic pioneers such as Gyorgy Ligeti, Leos Janácek, and Éliane Radigue, the latter of which’s music he will be performing at CTM.12 as part of a trio composed with two other celebrated musicians and instrumentalists, Charles Curtis and Carol Robinson.
