Juillerat’s debut album Soliloquy was released by Shitkatapult in Nov 2005. The 12” Slacktime taken from the album features a remix by Thomas Fehlman. Juillerat’s tracks also appear on T Raumschmiere’s Blitzkrieg Pop released on Novamute, and the Spex magazine compilation.
 
As Lillium, the French artist attracted enormous attention in 2005 when she won the Bjork remix contest with a dark and deep rendering of Army of Me. The song, A(R)mour, with it’s minimal beats and pulsing waves, is one of the thirteen tracks on Soliloquy.
 
Though emerging from her bedroom studio only recently, Juillerat has been making music for ten years in the town of Besançon in the Jura Mountains. With a fondness for analogue processes, Juillerat constructs her intricate compositions layer by layer on a 16 track, using analog and digital synths, beat boxes, samplers, microphones and acoustic instruments; “…piano, guitar, voice, nice sounds around me…”.
 
In a laptop world of predominantly male artists, the intimate electronic music of Juillerat is compelling. Made without computers, her delicately feminine yet powerful and darkly personal sound courageously wears its heart on its sleeve. Listeners are drawn into her deep sound world as voyeurs; becoming complicit with the private thoughts and strongly held convictions revealed in the damp and densely layered soundscapes. The songs are populated with insectiod buzzes and crackling, micro visitors; billowing static filled washes seep through haphazard, industrial beats. The accented vocals, half singing the introspective lyrics, are fragile, but resolutely unafraid.
