Gary Hurst works primarily with live video performances and installations centering around video, audio and light. His work is shown in galleries, public spaces, theatres and clubs (he VJs regularly) across Europe. He has also designed sets for theatre works by Nicole Peisl, Valentina Cabro, and Schot AG using live video. He is currently collaborating with the musician Winterberg on numerous live video performances and installations. Gary Hurst was born in South Africa (1964) and grew up in Canada and England. He studied art in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Rotterdam, and lives and works in Berlin.
