Joe Colley, for many years, has been regarded as one of the U.S.'s finest sound artists. He has recently moved more into compositions that could double as installations, such as his clay sound piece (the amplified sound of clay dissolving in water) or the six piezos generating feedback as they blows before oscillating fans, these recordings are not only intriguing theoretically but satisfy the ear. Often working with very simple equipment but an ear like very few have, Joe continues to construct intriguing audio events where sounds chase each other, consume each another, and leave trace elements of themselves along the way to be permutated, discarded, or destroyed.
