Diego Castro, born in Hanover in 1972, studied Fine Arts in Hamburg, Kiel, Saint-Etienne and did his postgraduate studies in Nantes, France. Recently he started Critical and Curatorial Studies in Geneva, Switzerland. He has participated in a huge range of exhibitions, and received the Nordwest-Art-Award in 2001. In his installations and performances he deals with techniques of imitation, plagiarism and the staging of failure. He appropriates practices of Popular culture to demonstrate its absurdity.
