Snax is an electronic producer, singer, and entertainer from the US, now living in Berlin. In New York City he started DJing and collaborating with several other musicians. Frustrated with New York house music labels' strict rules, Snax took matters into his own hands and released the "Hat, Hair, Lipstick" EP on his own label, Random Records. Another self-released psychedelic hip-hop mix tape, "Kate" brought him to the attention of New York artist, MC Tara. The two formed Bedrooms Productions, downtown's original lo-fi electronic hip-hop act, which preceded the current "Electroclash" hype of today.
While DJing in Berlin, Snax met his current musical partner (and good friend) Khan. The two discovered similar interests, such as music, socializing, and a mutual distaste for boredom. Various collaborations ensued and in 1999 they formed Captain Comatose. This partnership resulted in 2 12inches on Playhouse. Snax also performed in the US and Europe as the keyboardist for Foetus, Jim Thirlwell's legendary music machine. The European tour in 2001 cemented Snax's decision to re-locate to the electronic music Mecca, Berlin. That summer, a solo Snax 12inch was released on Freu_nd records (currently Freundenin) , the up and coming label started by DJ ND Baumecker. Khan moved to Berlin as well, and there he and Snax recorded the Captain Comatose LP "Going Out," released this year. SNAX also appears with electronic musician Phiiliip; together as YESANDNO on the seventh Gigolo Records compilation. As a solo artist, Snax delivers romantically sleazy beat music. Performance has always been a key element to the music.
