Pedro is a founder and currently the CTO of Barcelona Music & Audio Technologies (BMAT). He holds a PhD in Computer Science and Communication, in Telecommunication Engineering and a post-graduate degree from the EOI Business School. He is the author of a book on audio fingerprinting and semantic audio, and of more than 45 publications in international journals and conference proceedings. Furthermore, Cano holds 5 patents in the area of audio and music computing. Previously he was a researcher at the Music Technology Group (MTG) of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) in Barcelona, an assistant professor in the Department of Technology at UPF.
